WHY I'M RUNNING
I am the granddaughter of two steel mill workers—on both sides of my family—and the daughter of two Baptist ministers and missionaries. My father’s father had to slide under a train, hit a button, and slide back to the other side with precise timing. He worked there his whole life, and his legacy manifests in my willingness to show up, be in position when needed, be prepared, and be willing to do the tough jobs. I relate to people who share those values, and I recognize those common values in folks who might otherwise think they have very little in common—whether it be a union mill worker or a law firm partner.
It is often said that “Justice is Blind”, but I believe those of us who pursue justice must truly see people. I’m running for State Court Judge so that everyone who walks into Cobb County State Court—whether it be due to a DUI or a personal injury—can see someone on the bench who sees them and can recognize in them the values that so many of us share.
When a person finds themselves in court, it should be about that individual not the egos of any judge or attorney in the room. I’m running for State Court Judge so that Cobb residents know their day in court will be about them.
